Press Journalism and Book Publishing
Description
At the “Press Journalism and Book Publishing” Department are working 13 full-time lecturers, six of them are professors and associated professors. The habilitated academic staff includes 34 lecturers – leading researchers, scientists and specialists from the practice in the field of press, media, and book publishing activities.
The department ensures the specialized education on press media, online media and agency journalism in “Journalism” major and lectures on the specifics of traditional and online journalism for “Public Relations” major Bachelor and Master students.
The “Press Journalism and Book Publishing” Department developed and affirmed the Bachelor program of “Book Publishing” and for 20 years has been leading the education on book publishing at the FJMC in the educational and qualification degree “Bachelor”.
The training of students is led in the Study Editing Board Room (where practical seminars on Study Editing and Study Book Publishing are led), in the Press Media and Book Publishing Studio, in the Information Technologies and New Media Hall, in the Photo laboratory, in the study halls and complexes at the FJMC. Various study media are part of the students’ education.
The Department manages the Master’s Degree Programs of “Press and Media”, “Media Design”, “Online Journalism and Media”, “Sports Journalism”, “Book Publishing in the XXI Century”, “Traditional and Digital Book Publishing”.
In the educational and scientific degree “Doctor of Philosophy” the “Press Journalism and Book Publishing” Department is the educational institution in different scientific disciplines in the doctoral programs of “Journalism” and “Journalism and Media”: Visual Communication, Computer Based Communication, Mass Culture, Media Design and Communication, Media Discourse (Media Analysis and Media Critics), Media Language and Style, Nonverbal Communication, Online Journalism, Editing, Editorial-Publishing Process, Reflexive Journalism (Generic Models), Sports Journalism, Typology of the Book, Photo Journalism.
